Most folks could not point out Paradise, NV on a map, but it’s actually what a lot of people think of when they think of Las Vegas. Technically an unincorporated town within Clark County, Paradise is adjacent to the official area of Las Vegas and home to 223,167 residents, as of 2010’s census. The Clark County Commission technically governs it, but does so with the input the Paradise Town Advisory Board contributes.
Paradise is often unknown and just mistaken for Las Vegas, and for several reasons. First, every postal ZIP code in Paradise has a Las Vegas mailing address. Second, Paradise is home to both the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) and McCarran International Airport.
The big reason that Paradise is just known as Las Vegas is because the majority of the Las Vegas Strip runs through Paradise, and this unincorporated town also is home to most of the tourist attractions that are not in downtown Las Vegas.
If Paradise, NV, were to become an official incorporated town, it would be possibly the fifth largest in the state, with approximately 225,000 residents, rivaling Reno in terms of overall size.
